Anyone have a tune for the 2012 Lib hypertech is killing me at almost a 3 year wait and nothing still quite frustrating if my liberty could be just a smudge better on the shift points and power band.

My father occasional drives it and is used to a BMW boy can I tell! Cruising in my lifted liberty at 80 is making this puppy scream :(

Haha aw well figured someone would have a decent tune for it by now since this motor has been out for a while.

I think the only thing to do at this point is have everyone register at Hypertech who wants one. I'm just not positive if the reason it's not out yet is because of the different PCM, or if there just isn't enough interest.

I stand behind their product 100 percent, and I'm sure there are a few people here who would say the same.

I emailed them to see what it would take for them to come out with some tech for our rigs. Basically just asked if it's a matter of interest or they're in the process of something. They have tuners for 08 Liberties.

I would bet they could sell quite a bit to the 2012 owners.

I got the email back from them today. Here's what it said...

We are making our new product called the Interceptor for the
2011 and newer Dodge/Jeep vehicles. We do not support the Liberty or any
of the K engine vehicles at this time. We may eventually but no word as
to when at this time. I recommend using the link below to enter a
product request and we'll notify you whenever something becomes
available. Thanks

Jim

Now I've heard that the 09 tune will work for our libbys

Well I could have sworn my 2008 is a K engine... Not sure where ya heard about the 09 tune working, but I'm pretty certain it won't work. Wouldn't hurt to try if ya know someone with one.

That's what I thought that they have tunes for earlier model KK's and that would definitely be supporting them. I've had problems with the jet chip throwing codes and "wrecking" my throttle body sensor so I'm cautious when it comes to tuners.

Well the tune works 100 percent correctly for the early model KK's. It's disappointing the new KK's can't have the tune. 24HP and 24TQ is a lot extra for this engine. It'd be nice to find out the real reason why the 2012 isn't supported.

Guess the later model KK's will just have to sit back and wait to see if someone cares enough about us.

For giggles you could contact B&G and see if they can do a tune. There are also some early model KJ guys looking for support from Hypertech.

If they can create a tune, it'd be cool if they can match or do better than Hypertechs results.

Hypertech has a programmer for the 07-10 KA and 08-10KK. I don't see why it would not work in the 11-12 KA or KK.
Has anyone asked them why? Or is it just because Hypertech has not tested it on one yet?

I looked up the PCM part # for all KA years, each year is a different # but the same tuner is listed as working on 07-10
Just a thought...

Post subject:  Re: 2012 Tune yet?

I've gotten the answer before. I believe it was something along the lines of the PCM programming is a bit different for the 2012. IIRC the 2012 has been rated for slightly better mpg which means they did some tweaking to the PCM making it different than the previous years.

The Hypertech tuner works for 08-10 I believe. I think the issue was when Chrysler switched to the high speed CAN bus for MY2011 and newer

I read somewhere that the '11-'12 KKs got a slightly different engine programming. That's probably why it won't work :juggle:

Figured I'd throw that out there.
BTW the 07 and above KA has a highspeed CANBUS.
I wonder if it has to do with the "eco" feature being added... Cutting fuel on deceleration.
