So I'm trying decide what to do when my X-fer case blows up. That way when it does I can place my order for an upgraded case. I'm considering the Atlas II 4 speed. It's got 1:1, 2.72:1, 4.3:1, and 11.70:1 reduction. I'll miss my select trac but this seems awesome. To those of you that are mechanically inclined, would I have a problem running that low of a gear ratio in an automatic. I know that when going down hills in low if I get my rpms above the "sweet spot" they shoot up pretty fast. (and that's with a stock 2.73:1 ratio). Also what kind of other mechanical breakage can I expect with that kind of torque? I'd imagine my brakes would have trouble stopping that beast.

I can't ever see a need for 11.7:1 in our KKs.... BUT it's your Jeep, if that's what you want, make sure you take a ton of pics, keep everyone posted and tell us how you did it, how it goes and of course any problems.

I like doing things excessively. I'd rather have it and not need it than need (or want it) and not have it. I doubt I would use the 11.7 very often, I would probably use the 4.3 most of the time in the rocks. But it would be nice to slowly crawl down some steep hills with out touching the brakes.

Not sure it will fit. If it would, IMO, a waste of money unless you go SFA since the Libby's don't have enough ground clearance to do serious rock crawling anyway.
