Another plati-dip question

How well does plastidip hold up to branches? If I were to coat my vehicle would it offer any protection from pin stripping?

I believe member Ted15 has had some good offroad experience with it lately.
Hopefully he can chime in.
I personally have had my wheels, grille, and emblems dipped for 2 years now. The grille and wheels I've had to touch up I'd say 2 times now. Holds up really well by my standards. I'd say go for it.

I used it on my side door molding because I didn't want the chrome there. It's done OK at best. My passenger door (which is covered in trail stripes now) has some major rips in the plasti dip. It has protected my molding for the most part, but where the paint was ripped off it was scratched.

Now that I have my tires on Id like to dip my wheels. I see your in Jersey so I would assume you get plenty of snow and salt. How have they held up to the winter conditions?

A suggestion: I have had great success having parts sprayed with Rhino Liner or LineX or one of the other various bed liner materials.
I had all the metal racks/parts sprayed on my Polaris UTV and it has held up really good brushing up against trees, limbs, rocks, etc. It just does not scratch

It is really some very tough material (spray-on polyurethane). :banghead:

You can now even buy it in spray cans at Autozone, Lowes, etc...

Absolutely fine. Been through one Winter with it so far. Round two here we go.

Seemed to be fine. High pressure water and rubbing on trails tends to screw it up. Looking back, I probably wouldn't have done it and just committed to regular paint. It's a pain to clean up (surprisingly) and, if it gets oversprayed onto other parts of the jeep like mine did, it seems impossible to get it off.
