Greetings - I tried searching and couldn't find anything here on this problem, but I'd imagine I'm not the first to encounter it. A few days ago, I hit a small bump and heard a pop from the the back of the Jeep, and the back window started rattling. Turns out that the passenger side hinge broke off, as so:

After a bit of calling around, I found the part # for the hinge @ the local dealer - it is 57010060AB for the passenger side & 57010061AB for the driver side. Cost was $38.50 + tax, and it looks includes both the hinge and the screw/bolt like so:

To install, you'll need a 10mm wrench and a Torx driver. One of these guys:

Removing the top part of the hinge (attached to the Jeep) was as easy as removing the bolt. The same bolt is used to attach the new hinge.

The part that remained attached to the glass was a bit more difficult though.

First, you need to open the the glass part of the hatch, as the Torx screw isn't accessible with it closed. Whenever I did that, the supports pushed it up & out at a weird angle, but fortunately it wasn't enough to hurt the hinge on the other side. I then tried unscrewing the remaining part, but since it was so corroded the plastic part just spun around on the glass. So, I took a pair of needle-nose pliers and gently broke the plastic off. After this, the bolt fell out thru the hole in the glass:

Once that was done, I had to hold the glass halfway open, and push against the supports and hold it in place to get the Torx screw in. I held it about half open and propped against my chest to get it lined up, but it would be much easier with one person holding the glass and another putting the screw in.

After everything was tightened, you just need to snap the top part down and it's all done.

Finally, one more picture of the broken hinge after I got it inside:

Hope somebody finds this useful! In total it took me about 10 minutes to complete.

This JUST happened to mine after I closed the glass.

I'm going to buy the parts tomorrow and see how it goes.

Thanks for posting this! :D

Hi, I know this is old but it seem to work for my 2008 Liberty.
Great job.
I just wanted to add that it would be much easier and safer to remove both 10 mm bolts (after opening the glass) ad remove the glass completely that way you have fill access t the star screw without relying on the left hinge which is probably about to die anyway.

By any chance did you notice if the hinge gasket was available separately? The hinge on my wife's still ‘appears’ good, but the gasket was toasted and has started rusting out bad in that area.
