Does anyony know of a hitch that will mount in the bumper. Or behind it. I dont really mind putting a hole in my rear bumper. I just dont want to loose any ground clearance. It looks like all of the hitches stick down below the rear bumper. It wouldnt necessarily need to be designed for the kk just one that will mount that I could poke through the rear bumper. With some on the fly fabrication of course. Plus im not trying to drop big money on a new rear bumper.

I had the same question a couple months ago. The only hitch that cuts into the bumper is the factory one, and its not much. I'm sure you could cut off and reweld the receiver tube so it sits higher up in the bumper.

The mopar (factory) one works great for off roading. It lines the rear bumper, sits up under it barely visible, and protects it when you set it on a ledge. In fact I specifically got it for the added armor. And it barely affects your departure angle. The only part that might get a little damaged is the wiring harness, but you could probably relocate it.

Its possible but you'd be cutting into the unibody and fabricating a receiver from scratch. It would still stick out a bit to get the pin in there.

The factory one is pretty darn high up there. If you are anticipating hitting that kind of departure angle, you're going to rip off, or at least damage the plastic bumper as it is. If that is the case, hit up AttheHelm for one of his steel rear bumpers. It has a hitch built right into it, and will help improve your departure angle as well.
