Anybody try to mount the Rocky Road Cross bars on the stock rails? I like that the bars are flush within the rails but I do not want to change out the stock roof rails. |

I have found the stock roof rails to be plenty strong. I mounted homemade crossbars (aka, galvanized pipes) using U-bolts, lock nuts, and a rubber washer in between, and it's very solid. I carried lots of gear up there all last summer.

Yes I made my own as well. I just like the "flush" look that the RR crossbars provide without having any bar stick out past the rails. |

It might be possible but they use u bolts to attach so you'd need to remedy that since a wider bolt would slide around. Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk |

I have the Rage Powersports RB-1001, and I've been very happy with it. As others have said, the stock sidelong bars are very strong, so adding later bars makes for a very sturdy roof rack. My only complaint, as is the case with any rack, is the noise on the freeway. |
