I'm looking at upgrading the diff cover to this: http://www.yourcovers.com/diffcover_9864.php and I like the fact it has drain and fill plugs. I know its aluminum, but I figure its cast, so its still probably better than stock. Anyone have any recommendations either way?

I have PML diff cover and trans pan on my Duramax. Nice quality and a lot less expensive than Mag Hytek. Cast aluminum is okay if you're not in danger of smacking them, in which case a bend, but not crack, stamped steel cover is actually better.

I put them on so soon after new I can't really say if the extra capacity and cooling fins helped with temp control. Many say that they do.

I have one on my KK and had one on my Megacab.

I think they are great. I'm planning to put a trans pan on when its time for an ATF change.

The cover for the KK does interfere with the rear panhard rod when stuffed so you need to grind two fins flush.

The cover seems pretty tough as it is massively thick.
