I don't really think it does very much anyway. One time, while filling up my tires at a gas station, I had the tire stem shoot out its innards at me after taking the air nozzle away. I think it got caught on the piece some how. Anyway, ended up having to replace the TPMS sensor when they added the new stem. Now I randomly get a TPMS error every now and then when driving long distances, like over 40 miles. Usually turns off after 1 ignition cycle or so. I figured one of the TPMS was just bein glitchy (most likely the newer one). I have between 40psi-45psi in my tires since they're larger tires, which could also cause the TPMS sensors to show an error since stock tire pressure is around 30psi. Either way, I just got in the habit of checking my tire pressure and givin 'em a once over before making long trips.
I'm not sure the gas mileage difference between the stock tires you have and the mudders, but I can't imagine it would be THAT much different. My mpg only dropped about 1 or 2 when I swapped my stocks to AT's. All depends on what you've got for tires. (e.g. Load Range, Tire Pressure, Tread Pattern, Tread Depth, Multi-Ply, etc.)
bf mud terrains 13mpg average city, noise and wear faster
stock 14-15 average city and quiet
plus i am driving a 1600 miles each way from florida to tx and pulling a 6x12 trailer with some stuff.
so i think it will be a waist of mud terrain tread, comfort plus stress on the car towing 1600 miles with mud terrains.
i asked because learned that the kk is very sensitive with electronics and dont want the engine to stall in the middle of no where because a stupid tire sensor.
i know the liability problems evolved with insurance and tmps but i am more worried about the the cars computer limiting speed or performance due to a faulty tire sensor
