Experienced a bizarre issue with my 2012 KK yesterday. I put the key in the ignition, turned it, and the odometer said "NO FUSE." Engine would not turn, no interior lights, no radio, nada. No power to the vehicle. Only noise was a clicking sound from the fuse box. Did some Googling, and people said to check the IOD fuse, which has been known to come lose. No dice there. I then checked all the other fuses. Next I got my voltmeter out. Battery was at 12-ish volts. Checked a few other spots with it set to ohm, and connections seemed ok. Last ditch idea, i tried hooking up the jumpers to my wife's car. Somehow that got me interior power. Dash lit up normally. Starter clicked but would not turn over. Any ideas? |

Nice. Can you elaborate on what was actually wrong with it? I'm hoping to DIY here... |

i don't know id the problem was the purge valve or the battery. the mechanic at the dealer told me next time to try this. get a brand new battery connect it for few minutes, then: 1. Disconnect the POSITIVE battery Terminal and touch it to ground for 30 seconds. (This is to discharge the PCM capacitors, which maintain the Adaptive Memory. 2. Reconnect the Battery Cable 3. Turn Ignition Switch to the "ON" position but DO NOT start the engine 4. Turn Headlight "ON" 5. Turn Headlights "OFF" 6. Turn Ignition Key "OFF" The PCM Adaptive memory has now been flashed, or erased from the PCM. remove key insert it again and it should start. |

I'll try that. But...you lost me on what was wrong with your vehicle. Could your repair at the dealer have been avoided by doing the above? |

A good battery is more than 12 volts. |

probably yes... but if y have a sensor problem.... yo hae ti fix it if not i will die again my head lights went bad, i did the procedure and it got fixed, few days later the went off again.... did it again and got foxed for few day then off again.... took the car to the dealer. other mechanic told me that some emision problems, related to the gas like my purge valve problem can kill the car to prevent other problems, by resetting your computer you can safety drive your car and get it diagnosed. |
