Hello everyone,

So today I noticed that my Jeep was missing something when I parked.

Now I need a bit of help on what to do, should I just try remounting it in the same spot or is there another location that people would suggest so I don't lose another plate? Or a brand of mount to use that secures pretty well and what should I do about them holes in the bumper? Oh and this was due to hitting a large puddle. Which makes me sad as it was only a puddle that caused the damage.

Go snag a pair of plastic license plate mounts from a local automotive shop. I think I got a set at Autozone for like $10. They enable you to put screws in all four holes of your license plate and then screw it to the bumper in the factory holes. Little things are pretty durable. I hit the remnants of an 18 wheeler's blown tire on the highway at about 65 mph and it only cracked a bit, but it kept my license plate intact and attached to my bumper.

No its a normal gasoline engine.

And ill go check those out, and will it be an issue if the factory holes were opened up a bit from the other plate getting torn off?

It shouldn't be an issue. Worst case scenario, you could get two larger diameter screws at your local hardware store. This was my solution when I got into a skid in my old Dodge Shadow and took the front license plate bracket off in a snowbank. The next day I invested in two screws and a set of real snow tires! (I was living in New Hampshire at the time.)

Looks like he lives in AK, that plug is for an engine block heater (gasoline vehicles use them too).
