I had my Jeep in for a leaky axle seal under warranty when I got the call that the "strut exploded". I had the dealership send me pictures and it looks like the rubber bushing in the mount cored out and completely failed (after only 6000 miles no less). These were moog mounts (pn:K3190) so I figured they be good, however now it looks like I'll be switching back to mopars next weekend. Has anyone else ever seen anything like this? I'm just glad it didn't happen on the road. ![]() Album here: http://imgur.com/a/GgFGH |

seems to me that is the nut that holds it to the mounts what is missing and not a mount failure. i seen the happening before for two reasons. nut torqued to much down or installed bad and the treads are gone. is you are using hd ome springs it is possible because they are a pain to compress and install and some times this nut is not installed i in the right way |

JBA assembled my struts wrong. they left out the top flat spacer under the main nut. this pulled the nut through rubber just like this. I bet you had he same thing. no flat washer. |

Wow you're lucky that spring stayed in place while driving. You didn't notice that corner feeling really 'bouncy'? I can't imagine it just happen to fail at the dealership. |

Apparently it "popped" when they tried to remove the clevis. Got it back today and all seemed fine until I was driving home from work and it sounded funny over the bumps. Now it happened again on the other side. My money is on the shop I had assemble the shock subassembly overtorqued the nut.

nevermind I reread it. I bet you they left out that flat washer ontop. I am almost positive. JBA did that on my moog mounts too |
