My compressor has been cycling more and more. Slowly the effiency of cooling as dropped off to pretty much none existent. I put some gauges on it and both the low pressure and high pressure lines have ~150psi each.

So the high line is low (250-350 normal) and low side is high (30-40) normal. (according to 90 degree ambient temp)

For this the FSM says
1) accessory drive belt is loose
2)inop A/C Expansion Valve
3)inop A/C Compressor

Anybody care to expand on any of this before I start spending money?

1: belt loose....is the tension working? When the clutch engages does the compressor turn or belt slip over it?

2: self explanatory

3: self explanatory.

If you have a set of gauges on it then you should be able to tell whats going on. To replace 2 or 3 you are gonna have to evacuate the system, fix it, pull a vacuum, recharge.

The expansion valve is built into the low pressure line.....so have to replace that.
