Post subject:  Condensation after headlight blackout

Did the headlight blackout outlined in the how-to a week ago and am very happy with the results.

However, I continue to have condensation in both lenses. I pulled them apart dried them out and redid the seal entirety. Problem remained... So I dried them out with the shopvac and applied another bead of silicon around the seam.

I still have condensation develop... Thoughts?

Just put a little grease on the bulb orings and limbered up the gasket in the back.

Alright, the fault seems to be mine. I gave the paint overnight to dry, but in the moist Anchorage weather, I don't think it cured sufficiently before I sealed it.

So, I pulled the assembly back out and baked it again for an hour (rotating everything 10 minutes). Then, I let them sit open all night. After a day of driving... no condensation!

If you are going to do this mod and live in a damper area... give it a good long time to let it cure out! Don't rush the lights back in because you have to drop kids off at school... :P

Glad to hear that you got the condensation sorted out! Nice job, and thanks for posting what finally fixed it.
