Let's see if I can put this in words...
There are times that I do actually have to come to a complete stop :furious: but when I do, I have found out a long time ago it's pretty easy to get into a groove or something which allows me to NOT have my foot applied on the brake.
Is it bad for me to keep doing this? It has become a habit of mine.

I do this a lot too. I've always been told that any damage to the driveline is extremely minimal, and is no different that sitting with the transmission in Drive with your brakes applied.

Thanks. Just wanted to check with someone that may know.
Not many drivers do this, but it's just easy to do with a heavy brick on a slight incline.

Mine doesn't roll unless I use the gas, so 9 times out of 10 I'm stopped without being on the brakes. All has to do with how an auto works. As Erik said, it's the same as being stopped and on the brakes. The engine isn't producing enough power to overcome the brakes or obstacle so it doesn't move.

Are you doing this on a slight slope or flat ground or ??
I know some will sit on a slight uphill grade with enough throttle to keep it from rolling back

9 out of 10 times it's on a very slight slope with no gas applied.
