having a issue of no heat blowing and engine temp warning light, about 5 mins into driving it first happens but then i get a slight warmup of air then cold again, the temp gauge changes when i get the hot air blowing but as soon as it gets back to normal range is when I get the cold air again and starts the high temp cycle again. I have flushed out the heater core lines as I thought it was that with no luck. could it be a bad thermostat? or a bad heater core. |

Heater should be warm all the time regardless of thermostat open or closed. My guess here would be trapped air causing cavitation in the water pump. It won't hurt to change the thermostat, and while you are at it, flush the radiator. |

yup it was the thermostat, changed it out along with flushing out the radiator, bled put the system and working great again, I'm thinking that since the thermostat was not opening the hot antifreeze could not circulate in the heater core properly to get the heat |
