Just purchased a 2012 Jeep Liberty KK sport from CarMax. I was reading through the manual and followed all instructions for the unlock settings. Non of it worked.
I tried the unlock on first press - So that only the drivers door would unlock when I press the unlock on the key fob- by following the instructions of pressing and holding the lock button for 4 seconds and then pressing the unlock and releasing both together.. Nothing happened.

Then I tried the Auto Unlock doors on exit - So that I could set the car to unlock all the vehicle doors when any door is opened.- by following the instructions of... entering vehicle and closing all doors, cycling ignition from lock to on and then back to lock 4 times ending in the lock position and then pressing the power door unlock switch to unlock all the doors. Nothing Happened.

I also tried the horn with lock and flashing lamp with lock nothing worked.

This was a rental vehicle from a fleet previously.

Any info on whats going on?

Could be since it was a rental, the ability for you to program things may not be enabled.
You may need to go to a dealer to get them set...

I can't help solve your problem, but you mentioned a way to program the horn to honk with lock? What is the process for that? I hate that I can't tell if my KK locked when I press the button. I really want the horn to sound when I hit the lock button. I'm missing my owners manual.

Go here and download one for free.
