| Post subject: | KK Rumble |
Hey Everybody, Over the last couple of months I've been experiencing a rumble when nearing a complete stop and it is annoying the hell out of me. I took it to the dealership and they claimed that it was ABS activation and that it was normal. Considering it only started at 22,000 miles on the ODO, I highly doubt this is normal. So, to try and investigate, I pulled the J6 fuse to deactivate the ABS (correct me if I'm wrong) and the rumble is still there. Any ideas guys? |

That's not normal. ABS should only kick in when a tire is locked up or traction is lost. You even ruled it out when pulling the ABS fuse. You're still under warranty, I'd drop it back off at the dealer or try a different dealer. If they claim it's the ABS, tell them to disable it and see if it still makes the rumble before they return it to you. |

That's what I thought too. Guess I'll just take it to another dealer for a 2nd opinion. |

Check outside tire wear and wheel bearings. |

I've always noticed a rumble when the Jeep needs to hover right at 1000rpms. A little gas and it's gone |

Might be a warped rotor...does it just rumble or just does it shake the cabin too? |

I replaced all rotors and pads as per dealer ... it rumbles the whole cabin |

Yeah, if it only does it when braking it's a warped rotor...it was happening in my stepmother's mini-van when I was home on leave BAD (to the point where you couldn't bring liquids in unless they were sealed). |

It only happens at low speed (less than 10mph) braking so I don't think it is or was the rotor. |

It seems like it's coming from the rear. My first guess was a u-joint problem but I'm trying to narrow it down. |

Rear center, driver's, or passenger's? Any chance of a video? |

Seems like the center because it is not pulling in any direction when it does it. I'll see if I can get a video of what's happening. |

Check your drive shafts. I had a rumble similar to that. I could hear it at low speeds and feel it on the highway. Turned out to be my front drive shaft CV was completely shot. This is the output from the torque converter to the front diff

Took it to the dealer last night ... as per the tech on the ride-along, the transmission is skipping a gear and downshifting improperly. I'll know more when the dealership calls me later today. |

Got the truck back Tuesday night. As per the tech, the TCM needed a reprogram. Drove it to a 7-11 for a soda and then drove it right back to the dealership with the same issue |
