Hello all!

I was going to post this in the tire section but figured I would get more and quicker answers by posting here. I am pulling the trigger on a lift from RRO (rock father deluxe OME lift). I have a 2012 latitude edition which makes me one of the odd balls that is currently running the stock 235/65-17's. For right now, I'm just keeping the stock rims to keep the overall cost down (might paint them black or something). I want to go with 245/70-17 duratracs. Has anyone had any experience with this setup or see any issues here? I want to make sure I'm not picking a bad size. I think I'm ok based on what I've seen others running and doing the tire conversion calculators, etc.

Should be the same size as a 245/75-16. You'll be fine. Also you might want to rethink that RRO choice. They're pretty looked down on. And the kit isn't known for its quality.

Tire size would be OK, but RRO lift...............good luck with it.

What specifically seem to be the issues with the kit? I have a local jeep dealer near me doing it who backs all of their kits with a lifetime "No BS" warranty and are locally known for their excellent work. This is actually the kit that was recommended. And...as for the warranty thing I mentioned, I'm not too concerned about that because of the volume of work they do (sell new custom lifted jeeps, certified AEV dealer, etc.) so they have the credentials and customer service to back the warranty.

Lot of difference between AEV and RRO. If you don't care then go for it, but just beware, RRO kits are not what they seem, not the best setup as far as their mounting plates, unless you make sure that all springs are OME you may get their own brand of springs in the rear and cheaper shocks. If you took the time to read they are 11 on a 1-10 rating . Doesn't matter what the dealer is trying to push you to, highly doubt they have done that many KJ/KK lifts. Have you checked to see how many they have lifted ( true numbers) yours maybe the first one. Bet we've lifted more in my garage than they have so may have little knowledge in what actually works best for the KJ/KK lineup. JKs I'm sure they've done a ton of them

Thanks for the heads up. I do plan on upgrading OME all the way around...and not their brand of shocks in the rear.

Hope you are not going with their UCAs.
Make sure they sell you the longer rear shocks and not stock length as well
Just so many things that can go wrong when ordering from them just easier to deal with places that actually have good customer service and know what they are talking about

I've heard horror stories involving them. Like the a-arms not fitting etc. You can buy the OME springs, top plate, clevis, extra isolators, a-arms, and OME/Ironman/Bilstein shocks from JBA for $1-200 more than their kit. Then you won't have a spacer in the rear and guaranteed great custom service(I don't think I've ever seen anyone complain about them). Oh forgot to mention, you'll also have 3.5" of lift

I have BFG AT 245 70R17 on a stock ride height, now that the dealer replaced the rear springs for me the back doesn't sag no issues with rubbing from these tires.

Still a tad early to be too joyous, springs will settle in a bit depending on your driving it'll happen sooner/later.

Well the only tire that rubbed was the rear passenger which had almost 2 inches of sag but I already have my ome kit in the house with jba a arms just waiting for the weather to break in New York to install that should take care of any future rubbing!
