Currently i just have the normal spliced u-haul trailer wiring and looking to upgrade to the factory trailer wiring. This is mostly due to the fact i need a 7-way plug once in a blue moon for one of my trailers. Is it pretty much just plug into factory connectors or dues it require addition work to make it happen. I'd even be happy with a plug and play through the rear lights that comes with a 7-way plug if anyone knows or runs one. |

Are you talking about installing the Mopar wiring harness (PN: 82210642AD)? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BZSDWC4/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER I am buying the Mopar Hitch in a couple weeks when I get tax returns, and I am thinking of buying the factory wiring harness as well. I know lfhoward added HD cooling to complete the towing package, not sure if the 82210642AD was part of that install or not. Maybe he can chime in. To me, it looks like it could be plug and play. Either way, I'm going to try it in a few weeks. |

Hopefully the KK's are better than the KJ's because this was the KJ writeup http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/f202/how-tow-stuff-hitches-harnesses-brakes-26895/ with an add on correcting the relays http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=36034&start=0 |

not sure why any one would want to buy a $90 wire harness that is a $35 generic part. same cable, different names on them. and if anyone is afraid of "voiding" your warranty, the warranty is a joke. you get a better warranty from the used car sales man. |

Erikg84: yes, the part number is correct. Here is another vendor that carries the part (for $155) but they also have the Mopar installation instructions available for download, so you can see if you'd like to try and install it yourself. (Click on the wrench icon next to the part.) http://www.jeepworld.com/accessories/liberty/hitch.htm |

I kept burning up those generic t-harness kit so I installed the mopar wiring harness. Install isn't too difficult as it too is t-harnesses at the tail light but feeding the line to the battery is a little more involved but still not difficult. |

My problem was the little tail light converter box kept burning up which burned up the wires and made it useless. I went through 2 of them before switching to the Mopar unit and I havn't had a problem since. Not exactly sure how relays would help a simple 4 pin tow connector when its the box that failed. |

I'll just put in the t-connector then, and add a 7 way adapter. 99% of the time i just use the smaller trailer, but once in awhile i pull around the car trailer empty or just with a bit of weight if need be. Just the generic u-haul one is having issues that i had to have in a pinch before i moved. |

along as no fuses blow your golden! had that happen a few times with me... old trailer.... I now keep a set of spare fuses in the glove box. probably would be a good idea for spare relays. not sure how reliable they are on our KKs. |

Just got my OEM harness in the mail today, paid $111.00 w/free shipping from a Jeep dealer in TX. Also bought the OEM trailer hitch from them as well, should be here tomorrow. Paid $177.00 w/free shipping, an excellent deal IMO everybody else wanted around $235.00 plus shipping. |
