Hi all, ![]() My drivers window switch had been flaky for a while, and yesterday it just stopped working. The rest of the switches on the panel work fine, but I'm betting I have to replace the whole switch bank. I am looking on http://www.car-part.com for a reasonably priced replacement! ![]() There are 3 versions of this switch that supposedly work on 2008-2012 Liberites: Drivers, (window, locks, mirror), express windows, driver and passenger (opt JP3) Drivers, (window, locks, mirror), express windows, driver only (opt JPD) Drivers, (window, locks, mirror), w/o express windows Mine came with the middle one: express window just on the drivers side. I would love to upgrade to the top one, considering the switch banks are all $40 at the junkyard 9 miles up the street from me. However, what I need to know is: Will the express functionality on the passengers side work just by installing the fancier switch, or is this option controlled by the Jeep's computer so putting in the fancier switch will not work? Has anyone tried upgrading their window switches yet? Thanks! Lauren |

I have the same thing you have, and I think it should work. It feels as if it's just in the button, that extra little click. If the new switch bank works though the express passenger side won't work when the passenger does it since it's not an express button. |

Keep us posted with this. My drivers window switch is getting iffy. I think a little too much rain/snow got to it this year. Of I have a loose wire, who knows lol. |

Update: $42 later, we are back in business. I ended up buying the same part my Jeep came with: the switch bank with the drivers side express windows only. The person at the parts counter told me the parts were not interchangeable. The switch bank now in my driver's door began its life in a 2008 Dodge Nitro. Thank you to Al's Auto Parts in Trevose, PA. http://www.als-auto.com |

I'm a little late to the thread but wanted to add that the switch with the express on both front windows has a different plugin on the bottom and more wires. Glad you got the correct one for your ride. A KA owner was not so lucky and then to add insult to injury, they could not return it. |

Lauren, how long did it take to swap the switches? Is it as simple as just pulling up on it and replacing? |

X2. Grab all the window up switches with your fingers and pull the unit up. The whole thing will pop out. There is a wire harness or two underneath that you can un-clip. Super simple and no need to take apart the door at all to change it. |

Should I disconnect the battery first or can I do it with everything still hooked up? |

Should I disconnect the battery first or can I do it with everything still hooked up? its an analog device, so no need to disconnect the battery unless you would be cutting cables. |
