I have a question about everyone's cup holders. Have they changed over the years and different trims? I've been talking to a guy about LED rings and he's just trying to figure out what other years they will fit.

Just so everyone is on the same page, this is what mine look like:

I'm 98.95 percent sure mine are the same besides the color.

You could try this.

I wont attempt it until it warms up and I can make it to a junk yard for a spare.

Honestly for the price of me buying plexiglass here, I can have these already made for a bit more. They should come out to about $37 shipped and that comes with the rings, wiring, controller, and anything else you would need.

This is what I'm looking at. You can change the colors, adjust the brightness, and has different modes(flashing etc).

I can't go anywhere without finding somebody.

Scar0, I didn't pay any attention to who posted it, I had it in my good ideas to do folder.

buddha112572 glad you liked it. 8)
After considering many different options when designing my Mod.
I ended up with what I have for several reasons;
1. I did not want to decrease the size of the holder. (depth, or diameter)
2. Keep the rubber that holds the cup "in", in place.
3. I did not want them to be to bright and be annoying at night.
4. I wanted the lights/electrical parts to be protected from spills.
5. THE BIG ONE. There had to be no holes low in the holder which would allow spills to leak under the console and onto the main ABS controller. The main ABS controller sits just in front of the handbrake drum. Basically directly under the cup holders.
With the lights on the outside of the holder and the three slot holes 3/4 the way up the sides, I accomplished this.
The Pics I can get of them just don't do them justice.

I might silicone the rings then. I didn't know the ABS was there. Thankfully most of the time my cupholders have bottles in them so spills are of little concern.

Well kids being what they are, I couldn't risk it.
Is this just a ring that sits in the bottom?

Pretty much. I'm in class so I'll post the link for everyone when I get home later this afternoon. Luckily I'm only turning 22 in a few months, so no kids hopefully for the next few years lol.

At the time I did that, my kids were 12 and 10.
Now one is in college and the other in high school.
Good thing they each have their own rigs to mess up now. LOL
85 Cherokee and a 94 Cherokee.

So this is the thread for the lights. It's pretty long, but has a ton of updates. http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f67/wk-p ... s-1484603/

And this is their website:

Scar0, how similar are the KA and KK cupholders? From your pics in that thread they seem pretty close.

I can tell you my 08 cup holders don't look like that unless I remove the rubber flappy things in the bottom.

It appears from the Pic in the first post they eliminated the rubber inserts I have in my 07 KA and in the 08 KK Pic I've seen here.
I looked up the part# for both the KK and KA for the center console. The only difference is the last few # indicating color and trany.
Here is a Pic of my cup holders. They do look like yours but with an insert and not just a rubber disk in the bottom.

Basically means that as long as you remove the inserts they're the same from 07-12 KAs and KKs. You have a stick right? The rubber in the bottom of mine is removable as well. They just cheaped out in later years and ditched the inserts to hold cups.

Yep manual trany in my rig. What you see off to the side is my E-brake handle cover.
The inserts are glued in to the holders on the bottom. I imagine if one were to pull hard on them, they would come out.

Yes they do, I've taken them out to clean under them before.
