Post subject:  Largest/best wheeling tires on stock suspension? Lifts?

I have an '08 kk and its all stock except for a rogue performance muffler  I do quite a bit of highway driving to and from university and work in the summer. But I also love wheeling and want my ride to be a bit meaner/higher/wider/etc. I've seen posts saying on stock suspension, 245/70/R16s are the largest tires possible. Is that true? do they rub? Does it look meaner or sit higher? Or should I invest in a lift? If I lift it i understand I'll want new tires which will be quite the hit to my limited bank account as a student.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated!!! Great to be a new member :D

245-70-16s are the biggest tire unlifted. Now some "stuff " larger sizes but with very little clearance . If there is fly poop on the road it would/ could be enough to make them rub
Any larger then yes have to get a lift, looking at least 850-900 for the lift
As far as wheels stay stock "unless lifted" then you can go 7 inches wide/ 4 inches of backspacing
