This is my log where ill just be posting tasks that were completed on my KK. also thoughts and photos may be listed.






This is my problematic CB antenna bracket. the A pillars sheet metal is paper thin and none of the 4 bolts have much hold of the metal, so I epoxied the hell out of the mount. if it comes of later on... ill post back here.

the other CB antenna mount some how got a better bite from the A pillar and only has 3 bolts in it.

so the shop where I had my tires and alignment done at has a 6k mile tire rotation "warranty" for free. im pretty sure im close to that. im almost at 26k miles. I got the tires put on some time around 20k miles.

now I just need to find time to get them rotated correctly. the last owner had the wranglers rotated side to side, not front to rear.

yes I could rotate the tires on my own, but it would take me longer to do 1 tire then the shop rotating all 4 tires.

Not sure why Google is resizing my photos.

But, this is on the highway. These rpms were never that low at 60 mph. I haven't hit 70 yet but id assume they'd be pretty darn close to 2k rpm instead of 2200 rpm or so.

You're just shy of 60mph based on the speedo. That's where I sit at that speed though. 65-70 is about 2k maybe a tad higher.

according to the gps I use for speed, I was a perfect 60 mph. and even with the smaller TB I was never below 2k rpm on the highway.

You have bigger tires so its normal to sit lower when at the same speed. I Normally just go by the speedo when talking about speed on here.

filing up later on today before class. im currently at 1/4 tank and according to the trip counter, im at 170 miles. which is probably an actual 175 to 180 miles. which is about usual. going 45 mph or slower, the speedometer is not more then a fraction off. once I hit 50 mph the speedometer is 2 mph to 5 mph off at the beginning and end of the gear shift. 1st is spot on. 2nd is spot on till the end of its range, which is near 1 mph off. 3rd and 4th are usually off by a few mph. 3rd im usually in going 50-55 mph. im only in 4th (that I've noticed) going south on 81 going 70 mph.

cant wait to see (if) the improvement the 4.7L TB does going 70 mph! im hoping for a solid 25 mpg.

the original TB with the lift and tires as well as stock KK, got me near 22 mpg. calculated from tank fill ups and gps mileage data.

I fill up 3 times on the way. once right before the interstate, once in Carsile, and once in Harrisonburg. after Harrisonburg, its an hour drive to my destination. just about the whole drive I do 70. sometimes I did 67. never did les then 65 or more then 71. not much of a speed demon, but yet I still pass people up going the speed limit.

filled up the jeep last night. had 1/4 tank left according to the gauge. filled up with about 15 gallons. almost got 13.5 miles to the gallon. which isn't an improvement really. so now that I know there's not a gain for "city" driving, im curious on what ill get on 81 for 240 miles? shall be interesting!

ogh, and the odo, that at the speed around town, not even off by one mile.

does any one know if a diode hooked up to the alternator would help reduce the wine in the audio equipment?

the wave form is technically dc. but its true out put waveform varies due to the engines rpm. theres a tricky device in the alternator or outside of it that (long story short) convertes the potential AC into DC, but the DC wavelength is very close to being AC, just with out the waveform going negative (below the line).

not sure if the diode would straighten out the wave form, since its already dc, orkeep it the same wavelength since its already DC.

the one below is rated at 300A which if the stock alternator even ever put out its rated 250A, would be fine, besides from the massive heat generated from the diode. if I get it ill fabricate a heat sink for it.

and besides the fact the whole thing needs to be isolated or il risk blowing up the alternator in a short since theres no fuse to the alternator to the battery.

Summer detailed my Jeep today. Found some Virginia sand that I know exactly how it got there...

Exhausted from a 5 hour detail. I love it filthy muddy and sparkling clean.

I don't want to go overboard with the tan accent. I feel like if the rims were the same tan accent, it would be an overpowering accent. and I really don't mind the black rims with center cap accent.

I think my KK is all accented out, no more. haha

Looks good. Wanna do mine? I was up on the beach yesterday so there's some sand inside lol. Just promise you won't use a pressure washer until I figure out this roof leak...

Installing my dlna server in the Jeep today. Took me 3 days to get all of the servers "quirks" solved. Audio is pretty good, and expandability, well I have yet to reach its limits.

so, the spacer lift is killing my Jeep. my front shocks or what seem to be the shocks, are already squeaking. rears, I haven't even put new shocks on, and probably wont till I get a proper lift. and im questioning my decision on going to rausch this weekend because I may have a fluid leak and need to check the shocks for a seal leak because I cant tell from the boots that are on them currently. ill check the paper towels tomorrow morning.

Even with dead shocks you'll be fine...I spent 4 months with DEAD shocks (as in I hit a bump on the highway and the tire bounces up and down on the road for a bit....). No reason to not go to Rausch haha, get some experience so we won't be entirely LOST (see what I did there?)
