The clamps on the tb, on the 90, and straight pipes. Those clamps are always working themselves loose. Don't want to do anything pertinent because I take the intake apart every other month.

Posted yesterday in the What did you do to your Jeep today section, but posting here for today.

With a continuation of yesterday's project, this "device" will always be seen, and unite separated "devices". What am I?

Almost done on it. Just need to bolt on the last side and silicone it. I will be carpeting this "device" tomorrow. Maybe sound dampin it too.

all that is left to do now is to carpet the console. im thinking on going thick on the carpet to hide the bottom bolts. in mot sure what style I want to go for the rear bolts. the bolts closest to the rear view mirror are hidden; will not be able to be seen once the carpet is applied. I did not have enough of the clamps and bolt style to continue the pattern... :juggle:

the picture looks like the console is spotty work, but each board has at least an hour put into it. each is sanded and cut with precise measurements. the glue makes it look like its spotty work.

I have yet to fabricate the smaller cb mounts.

there is ample room for switches. I plan on giving the passenger side two 5v ports and an auxiliary horn switch.

Still super curious what it is you are fabricating there! CB, horn, USB ports? Some sort of multifunction electrical device run by your solar?

some serious progress was made today!!! :BINGO:

worked up till 12 tonight to get it finished. I should have worn gloves and sleeved shirts... fiberglass.

tomorrow is all electrical work and some cleaning up of the messy headliner cut.

the picture below is of it currently but without the headliner and microphones attached. it looks ballin. yes, I said ballin.

the hooks and mounting system allow for only half an inch of travel front to back. no movement side to side. the passenger side is the same with the exception that the drivers side swings open to the passenger side for access.

the mounting system seems durable enough for the trail. wont know till the jeep is ready for the trail though...

the red and silver is insulation I had left over from the trunk project. which is still in progress.

the jeep is ice cold within minutes thanks to the insulation :pepper:

what it looked like before mounting it:

ill post a few pictures tomorrow, or should I say later on today...

finished the ohc up two days ago.

it turned out exactly how I wanted it to before I started, but not exactly liking the look currently.

well, just another upgrade in the future then...

Looks good. I feel like it's missing something, but can't quite put my finger on it.
Bet ya that was fun ripping the headliner off.

I really dig this too. Very well executed. I too feel like it's missing something. Courtesy lights I think?

Gage; Collin, the wire is still there, but I don't know what to do with the lights yet. the ohc takes up 2 inches into the space. I wont add lights just yet because the new ohc will most likely utilize custom lighting. there is major flaws with this first build... but has plenty of space to grow. this was not a cheep mod (destruction).

I really like the mounting system. I designed it so the box can completely be removed.

the next revision will house the CBs further up. they are too far back in this mod.

not sure if I had mentioned the purpose of the 2. but my Uniden is my main cb and the Cobra is for pa functions so I don't need to switch between the two on trail. not sure if I want to add another antenna for the Cobra though, is it really necicary to have three whips?...

the current ohc has plans to have switches implemented. just 3 that I can count so far. im not sure when I want to revisit this mod just yet.

well, squeaking has returned in the front end. never really disappeared, but its bad enough to take a look at. I have a feeling its my dang swaybar links or the bushings are dry and gritty again... hope its not a ball joint because I don't want to throw any more money into the spacer lift. need to save up the 10k for all I want.

Got my monstaliner samples today. I'm thinking on going with the WWII green. But from my testing of the 4 samples, I came to the conclusion that the lighter colors show scratches easier. The dark and browns have the same depth of gouge, but the darker colors don't show the scratches as easily as the lighter colors if that makes since. I'm going to need to re order samples, as I am not overly impressed with the scratch resistance.

WW2 Olive Drab Green is what I have. Just remember that this is scratch resistant, not try-keying-this-you-stupid-ex sort or rock-proof sort of exterior. This stuff will handle branches and the such very easily though and show no signs of wear.

with the price they're asking, I want the paint to be as solid as ever. the front and rear bumpers see more damage then the doors do. the doors see branches, and the bumpers love hitting rocks so the scratch resistance needs to be close to non existent. like I said, the darker colors do pretty good. the WWII OD Green did pretty good but shows signs of early stress. maybe the sample has 1 coat on it and not the 2 or 3 I intend to put on.

I put a knife to it and drug the knife off the sample. the black did the best and this came second.

Even if you put 10 coats on the bumpers, one rock will gouge that paint. Use a cheap paint to easily touch up and prevent rust. Monstaliner is too expensive...

Monstaliner is also a product of polyurethane...so knives will cut it no matter what...

did some searching for OHC... man he did a very clean mod. I wish I would have thought of the cb radio drop. not sure how that will work out with 2 cb radios though... id rather bedline the OHC then upholstery it all...
