bought some fluids... till I find time to drop the pan, topping it off is all I can do for now. I don't expect it to take all 2 quarts I bought because this questionably started 3 months ago. no slippage like nick had or "neutral" like issues. the issue is more like a seepage issue.

ill wait till the morning till its cool.

Dude, what are you going to run on 16.5 inch Humvee rims? :-)r I'm assuming the military 37's are out! I think you can get Super Swampers or BFG's in 33's in that size, but tire choices are getting sparse for 16.5 rims these days. Another challenge is that those rims have an 8x6.5 bolt pattern. Wheel spacers?

SFA axle swap?!?! :frankie:

im on the other line with bmxer.... haha. yea so far I found actual 32s. not 31.7s. still looking around for 32s or 33s for a 16.5 rim. I can get 12 bolt; 8x6.5 rims for under 90 bucks (w/o shipping) brand new.

first things first though.... the lift. that's way more important then adding 100 pound tires on... ogh, yea, the rims are a hair lighter then 40 pounds... bye bye mileage :5SHOTS:

You are close enough to drive over to Eastern Surplus in the Tacony area of Philly and pick some up yourself. They can usually find what you need, even if it's not already listed on their website. I've used them to source parts for my M116A3 trailer.

I've been searching their inventory for some time now for dual axle trailers and rims. I can get brand new 16.5" rims for less then what they charge. I love the dual axle trailers they have in stock!

Yea it's good that I need the arms, but I'd have to start the lift early. I don't want to piece meal it together. If I buy one thing for the new lift, everything is being bought that day for the lift. I don't have 10k sitting in my pocket, so all I could sorta kinda afford is the lift products.

What do you plan on doing? If it's the 4", you can get the arms now then opt out of themater when you buy the kit.

Suspension is all JBA. I want at least 3.5" in the front if not 3.8". Im going back and forth with the rear with anything in between 4 and 5 inches.

Did a few maintenance items today.

first off was tire rotation. I also bought new locking lug nuts a while ago. saved a few original lug nuts and installed the new ones which are harder steel then the oem lugs.

second, I greased up the sway bar. it was bone dry.

third and most important, im not going to explain it. a picture is worth a thousand words. lets put it to the test.

Image

fourth, I finally opened up the rear diff. oil level is perfect, and oil is a brown ish color. not black or foamy either.

fifth, I marked the hot level on the dip stick. ill be waiting till tomorrow morning when its around 80 degrees outside to mark the cold.

That looks like the rear diff and driveshaft. Looks like oil at the pinion seal, possibly flung up onto the metal above. Or it's WD-40 overspray and you were removing your driveshaft for some reason. I'm afraid you're going to have to explain!

Looks like the oil is coming out at a regular rate. Unless I loose a whole quart every drive, I'm not going to replace it. Either way 4.10s or 4.56 are going in. A little oil leak doesn't worry me the slightest since the r and p are being tossed next year.

Haha I guess some emoticons don't get along with the forum. Did you spring for extended bump stops? I know I absolutely shredded the boots to the ball joints from not having them.

I don't have extended bump stops just yet. Only thing I've done with the lift is the spacers and front shocks. I saw some member on here or on the jeepforum that had JBA control arms with a ball joint protector. Sorta like an open spacer. That's just to protect the ball joint though. Not to act as a bumpstop replacement.
