Some of you members out there may finally be saying "yes" to me. I'm getting the scan gauge eithor this June or July.

No more estimating mileage.

I don't have a scangauge and I don't estimate my mileage ever...

Since my tires are larger then the stock 225s, the odo is way off so it's been ages since I've even looked at it. I've only been relying on my GPS for mileage and I sometimes don't turn it on. All I know is that I'm getting close to my oil change. Probably 500 miles till I will need to start thinking about it.

And pulling the battery and cleaning the mad sensor really helped highway and city driving a lot.

Yes! :jester:

The Scangauge can be calibrated to know how fast you're going if you get your actual speed from a GPS device. You can also fine tune its mpg estimate by telling it when you fill up, then by telling it how many gallons you used the next time you fill up (assuming it was never disconnected during that tank of gas). From then on, it will be very accurate.

Glad you figured out why your mpg was low and it was a relatively easy fix.

I love driving with the scangauge.
See if you can find any discounts on it anywhere. Not the cheapest thing in the world.

Just multiply your mileage from the display by a difference in revs per mile from your previous tires to your current. For instance when I drive 175mi, I multiply that by .075 (because my tires are 7.5% difference in revs per mile) and then add that to the 175mi, and then divide by how many gallons of gas you put in. Tah-dah! Math...

This is exactly what I do. My tires are 4% larger than stock, so 1.04 X mileage (175 in NAM's instance) = gas mileage.

Got busy today!

The intake temp was around 110 degrees, so I finally rednecked this install!

Image

For now until I can figure out a more permanent solution, foam insulation will be used.

Image

I had recently bought the wrong size sock so I cut it up and covered up the intake pipes to reduce water and bug intake.

I also had cleaned off the 3 radiators! The engine transmission and ac will love me for a bit.

Also, the fan that used to be in taking some air from the front of the radiator ceased up. So that may have been a minor cause of the high intake temps.

So until I figure out how to seal up the box more professionally, intake temps will probably be high, but should be lower then my 110 degree temps.

Did nothing to my KK today. Obviously. I'm in Hawai'i.

So stock jku and Tacomas rule Hawai'i.

Almost got a jku. Bit sadly didn't...

I posted photos on my google+, but won't have time to link them here till I get my tablet to link em. Its easier to do so in the tablet then my phone.

Starting to get prepared for next years jeep upgrade. I'm currently looking at a 4 inch lift, possible larger tires and rims, to get my speed back to factory id need 3.88 gears but no one makes 3.88, so I'm thinking about 4.10s along with OX locker front and rear!!! Electronic for the front and air for the rear. The air and or electronic may change though. I can buy a viair compressor and 2 solenoids for the front and rear, but want to justify the benefits of that particular set up. I'm on edge installing the tow package. I do want a hitch though because I do see myself towing a trailer a few times for some trips every month. It is a definite that I will be buying a front bumper from ATH. I'm not sure if I want to get a rear bumper at the same time as I do when I order the front. Protection wise, I have been good so far with out skids. My transfer case has scratches on it probably from sticks I constantly run over off road. I've never done anything that would need them. I'm pretty good with judging if my jeep can make it or not. Also, having good spotters count!

Y'all stay tuned for next years mods! I'll be doing the lift right this time!

Any ideas from any member on anything else to install?

Some invisible mods that have been awesome for me include:
The cabin air filter mod (if yours didn't come with one)
Mopar heated seat kit (soooo nice in winter)
Remote starter (also nice in winter)
HD cooling fan (just nice to have the extra insurance)

Thanks Lauren! I had the cabin air filter stock luckily! I use carbon filters, which really haven't helped smell. the remote starter I want to do, that wil possibly be on for this winter. I really don't have a need for heated seats. The HD fan, is that electric or does that come with the tow package I will be getting.

It's a mechanical fan. Comes standard if you have the tow package. If you plan on installing that package, it would be part of what you're doing.
