Good afternoon you all! I finally managed to finish the install of my leather interior that I bought from a company in CA as well as the wrangler (2012) leather steering wheel install. The total changes include: - Full leather front seats + headrests - Full leather middle console armrest - Full leather rear seats + headrests - Factory leather steering wheel I can tell you that I would most likely not do this again. At least not as a DIY project. While it all turned out great, installing leather upholstery is a PITA. You need arms like Popeye and your fingers are guaranteed to hurt at the end of the day. That said, taking about the seats and the rear bench is fairly straight forward. Remove a couple bolts, take the stuff out, and get to work. Now... if you want to do this, be as careful as you can removing all the plastic trim on the seats. It is brittle to say the least. I cracked one side cover and had to order a new one. As for the headrests: they seem difficult to take apart at first. But they really are not. Once the plastic cover on the back is removed with a pry-upholstery tool the cloth is just held by clips. I am very happy with the way it turned out. Especially as material & tools ran me around $500 for everything... Below a couple pictures for your viewing pleasure (for some reason I cannot link the picture itself from my Google Drive account, so I posted the links) http://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-ETKLb ... sp=sharing http://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-ETKLb ... sp=sharing http://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-ETKLb ... sp=sharing http://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-ETKLb ... sp=sharing |

Wow that's REALLY nice looking! Are you going to share what company supplied the upholstery? My driver seat is shot. |

Atthehelm wrote: Wow that's REALLY nice looking! Are you going to share what company supplied the upholstery? My driver seat is shot. So... the leather interior is from Pecca Leather Inc., 12010 Woodruff Ave Suite F, Downey, CA 90241 Part Number: USJEP12042XSML0500NEW Pattern Code: USJEP12042 Color Label: Black The packing list for this set was apparently printed on 29/8/2012 - so it must have sat on the shelf for a while (which possibly explains the cheap price). Also, I am not sure if Pecca Leather sales directly to individuals. I went through Elegant Auto Interiors of Florida (maryjon95 on eBay). Not sure if they have sets regularly for sale, or if I got simply lucky (for $350 shipped I guess I consider myself lucky). You add the armrest, couple tools and the whole thing was about $500, not counting my labor/time. I also found peccaonline.com. The site seems to be for EU and Australia. If you select EU and go to online ordering, selecting the 2012 Cherokee (i.e. Liberty in the US), it shows the proper seat schematics and everything. In any case, I couldn't find a website for the US that would correspond with the pattern code I listed above. Hope this helps in any way?! |
