Found this on Expedition Portal, owner had it to the Dealership a few times due to electrical issues. Guess he won't be taking it back anytime soon.

There was a burning Nissan Armada down the hill from my house when I lived in Philly. (Local drug dealer rolled it off the cliff and lit it on fire to make a point to one of his colleagues, I think.) Wow, are they hot fires, and they have the worst smelling smoke imaginable. One of the firefighters complained that why did it have to be a :furious: car fire? She had just gotten her hair done. Thankfully, the winds were favorable and the smoke didn't come into our house.

All sorts of fun things burn in a car. You should see the steering columns when you apply water.

Wow, looks like a TIPM fire. :dead: There have been several KA which caught on fire because of the TIPM. That is why I keep full coverage insurance on my rig, even though it is paid off.

 I guess I should clean up my birds nest of wires in the engine bay then....

Feel bad for that stock KK. Nah, not really. That's just a write off.

Oh ya. Two real fires, two meltdowns that were saved by the owners. One was just sitting in their driveway, it had not been run for several hours. One was driving down the freeway and saw smoke from under the hood. Luckily he had a fire extinguisher.
Two 07 and two 08 have been documented on the KA forum I am a member of. I can't count the # of other TIPM related problems. Most common issues are the doors won't lock/unlock, horns randomly going off, wipers moving on their own, heater blowers not working correctly, and these are the ones we have actually traced back to the TIPM. All problems have been caused by an internal short in the actual TIPM. One guy has had to replaced his TIPM 3 times. He lives in a hot, dry, dusty area.
Seem like the late 07 early 08 models are the most affected, but recently I've seen several 10-11 with issues popping up.

Wow, thanks for posting this, Tom!
I remember maybe a year or more ago we had discussions here about something in the KKs catching fire. I wanna say it was near the window switches.
