Sooo, here's some damage from the falling on rocks with the engine skid in place:

Pretty sure this outside lip used to be straight...

This is just one solid dent:

I'd personally use 1/4 steel skid reinforced with a few I beams welded on.

But that skid certainly saved your diff and axle housing.

Not sure...1/4 would weigh QUITE a bit extra on that one...I like the idea of adding beams for some inner structure though. Maybe 1"×1/8" lengths for that part haha.

Sure, it would be heavy. Good luck denting it though on some boulders.

Or could sell that one to a Mall Krawler who wants to show everyone he actually uses his, and then buy one from SkidRow etc they're plenty strong

Maybe if I had the $225 to drop for just the engine skid. I may just fab my own using the same bolt holes as stock haha.

Hence 1/4. Id never worry about coming down on a boulder with that skid. And with that, say bye bye to your mileage.

I can say with 99% certainty that the engine skid will fit. Mostly sure about transmission and transfer case. Gas tank just won't period though haha.

I cleaned up and painted my skids today. Engine skid is so beat up...Skid Row skid might be in the works for me soon. We'll see what Rausch Creek does to it haha.

Mine have held up pretty good. It's got some nice dings but they're a lot stronger than I thought they'd be. One of these days I may go with skid row after someone confirms they do indeed fit the KK. But right now mine are doing the job, and I'd like to think I'm not gentle on them.

My skids have taken a beating and show little damage aside from paint xfer.

My fuel tank on the other hand needs a skid very badly I have demolished that thin metal case that holds the fuel tank normally
