At the Mechanic and he hooked up a computer to run some diagnostics and got two codes. U0212 and U0121. don't remember what they stand for but they are related to the bcm losing contact with the anti lock breaks and traction control. mechanic said updating the computer may fix the issue, if not I could have a bad wiring harness or bad bcm. Anyone else have this issue and what did they do to fix it.

U0212 Data bus, steering column control module - no communication
This happens If the Final Drive Control Module fails to receive bus messages from the Steering Angle Sensor for approximately 500 ms.
Possible Causes;

DTCs RELATED TO BATTERY VOLTAGE, IGNITION, OR VIN MESSAGES
CAN C BUS CIRCUITS OPEN OR SHORTED
STEERING ANGLE SENSOR POWER AND GROUND
STEERING ANGLE SENSOR
FINAL DRIVE CONTROL MODULE (FDCM)

U0121 Data bus, anti-lock brake system (ABS) control module - no communication
The DTC will set if a valid CAN ID was not received in the required time from the ABS.
And/or CAN C BUS messages are not received for 10 seconds, If the PCM fails to receive bus messages from the ABS M for approximately 500 ms, Bus messages not received from the ABS for approximately 2 to 5 seconds.

Possible Causes;
TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE
The ECM doesn't receive a Bus Message from the Anti-lock Brake Module.
INTERMITTENT DTC
CAN BUS OPEN OR SHORTED CONDITION
ANTI-LOCK BRAKE MODULE
ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM)
DTCS RELATED TO BATTERY VOLTAGE, IGNITION, OR VIN MESSAGES
ABS POWER AND GROUND
ABS
POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM)
CAN C BUS(+) CIRCUIT SHORTED TO VOLTAGE
CAN C BUS(-) CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND

These data lines are on the same TIPM plug, but so are several other modules. OCR, WCM, drive train1, PCM. If it were the TIPM plug you should also have "no communication" errors for more modules. There are at least 2 plugs in between the 2 modules, with other modules connected to each of them. I think that will pretty much eliminate a plug in that is bad. But it still could be a wire short.

Now looking at the above "set conditions" components and "possible causes" that are listed for both errors. That will give you a place to start.
But before you get to deep into it, clear the DTCs and see of they come back.

Mechanic attempted to clear them but could not. He did have the jeep running when he hooked his computer. I have a hypertech tuner and after seeing the mechanic i went home and plugged it in with the jeep just turned on and i had no DTC's. also the mechanic stated that i would not have abs or traction control yet i had the traction control kick in when i left his shop cause there was some gravel from the road being repaved.

Call it a glitch for now, unless they come back. Check your battery terminals are clean and tight and make sure the (+) terminal on the TIPM (from the (+) on the battery) is tight.
