So i am about to try my luck at dropping the pan and changing the fluid and filter of my kk.

I was wheeling on the beach the other day and didn't let air out of my tires.. the trans temp light cam on twice. I wasn't revving real high or anything and it was kind of strange that it happent but it did and i stopped and let it cool off for awhile after. But after calling the dealer and getting a quote of $350 to do the same thing i am saving myself $300 and doing it myself. I am pretty mechanically inclined and do my oil changes and diff.

Can anyone give me any tips before i start dropping the bolts! much appreciated in advance

You don't have the correct equipment to perform this maintenance on a KK. We don't even have trans fluid dipsticks. Too much or too little fluid can cause problems.

Best to take it to a professional. Doesn't have to be a stealership.

pretty easy to actually... I personally wont but digger had a thread of the dipstick PN: somewhere.

my mechanic bought a dipstick really just for me from Chrysler i assume that has temp readings on it. though digger bought his for less then 30 bucks.

easy to do the fluid change, but if I screw that up I loose a jeep in reality. engine oil changes are stupid easy. I don't do them because the cost is no more then a few quarts of oil...

that thread though is around here somewhere... maybe in lfhowards topic.
