So the wife's truck has the fancy climate control on it. Is there an issue with these systems? Her truck really sucks in winter and summer with heat and ac. Is it possible to switch it to the standard controls?

If by truck you mean Liberty, short answer is yes. But that's expensive. Check the a.c. pressure to make sure it's properly pressureized. To much refrigerant or too little will make the compressor inefficiant. The issue with the heat not being too hot may be from a small clog in the evaporator.

Also, it's quite possible the blower motor resistor is shot. Its been awhile since I've been in my glove box, but the bmr should be in that same compartment.

It's pretty much acted like this for the last 3 years since we bought her liberty. It's a pain because at 30 below it don't like to heat that well. But mine has standard controls and I can sweat in it at 30 below. I guess my big question lies in can I swap it straight across or will I have to do a bunch of other things for it? Already had the AC checked and it was at preasure. No problems with the blower or heater core. Seems to be that dang climate system. Will the one bolt right in? Or will I have to change a lot of things?

My 2012 takes 10 minutes to heat up from start to time to drive off while it was idleing the 10 minutes.

Control modules are expensive! Keep it.

Check the cabin air filter and intake for debris and or filthy filter. Replace and or clean if needed.

Going off of PA's post, check the cabin air filter and if you're adventurous, pull the cowl screen and look under there too. Also try pulling the battery for 5min too. Unfortunately you can't swap HVACs without a lot of work as the harnesses are different between them. It is possible if you are willing to rewire a few different circuits as well as have a way to reprogram the computer so it knows its manual now.

Thank you.

I have been thinking of doing a swap but a few hundred bucks to me isn't worth it.

While relaxing in the tropics here, I found this on the jk forum.

http://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-write-ups-39/upgrade-climate-controls-auto-ac-heat-234990/

Though it doesn't really help your situation, it is here in case any other members want to switch out their modules just for style points.

Currently researching if a modern jeep can accept a Chevy climate control unit like the pictures below. Though the only issues if it did work out that I know of currently is the dual climate mode and the fact that our jeeps use a single harness, the particular Chevy module has 3. Not sure of the size of the Chevy unit, but I'm sure a little duct tape and supper glue would do the job.
