Here is to start
knocking noise going strait under 15, turn wheel to either side and no change in sound sound goes away when applying brakes only and shaking at 65+
replaced left cv as I originally thought it was that. boots were fine
knocking came back after 100 miles. went ahead and pulled new left out to verify it wasn't doa, knocking continues after removal
put back new one and pulled right side, and the shaft came with it, looked great boots no issues, test drive knocking continues

could it be the front drive shaft cv end? or the ujoint end of that shaft failing? I'm needing help figuring this out

also I did confirm with a friend of mine who is a mechanic that it sounds like a broken cv somewhere when I was driving in a parking lot the other day

Wow, that's pretty loud!
I'm surprised you can't pinpoint it.
Does the sound change if you are in neutral? Does it do it in reverse?
No grease anywhere?

I'd pull the half shafts and see if the noises go away. I recently thought I broke a CV joint but it turns out my front diff exploded. Where do you feel the popping noise coming from?

It does it in neutral with a little less noise , no grease anywhere, it doesn't do it in reverse. To me it feels like it's front end left,

No I don't feel vibrations through the floor, when at 60+ the vibration was more steering wheel then car shaking, but I haven't been back on highway with it or even driven it since testing with each half shaft out individually and the quick little drive this am

Grab the drive line from the X-fer case to axle and see if it has play in it by the X-fer case pot/pan.

The noise did not match anywhere close to the rpms. Sounds like something is "shimmying" left to right. Have someone rev the engine while in neutral and check the transmission and power steering.

If the noise is presient while in a standstill neutral, id doubt there's an issue with the differentials. If you have power (slippage) in neutral you have one big issue on hand.

Maybe something with the springs? How many miles on it?

it says 119k but it's more, due to the fact that the tire size has never been corrected and I don't know how long the spacer kit was on it before I bout it at 80
I was wanting to at least buy the front half of a lift and then replace the back in a month or so

Your springs and shocks are probably toast.
I don't know if it would cause these noises, though.

It does, but not in this form. He'll be getting a bouncing tire after hitting bumps and hard bump-steering.

OP, does this noise happen per tire rotation or is it rhythmically but not perfect with the tire?

um yea finally looking closely at the front drive shaft, I'd say that the cv end is what the issue is...

so whats the easiest way to pull it with the exahust pipe so close

and I know I have seen the kit before to replace that end but I forget where

Yup. That's your problem.
That's something I look at every time I'm under the Jeep cuz I've seen quite a few fail on the forums.
