When my right blinker clicks off, either automatically by turning the steering wheel or manually, it triggers 3 blinks of the left blinker. The stalk just seems to overcompensate or something, going too far down before returning to a neutral position. It doesn't always do it, but the frequency of this error is increasing and it is getting annoying. Is there a fix for this that doesn't involve installing a new multifunction switch?

Lauren, one of two things. Check this out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLoQwjOjVkI and fastforward to five minutes. It could be that part (no clue what its called) or your column. Simple repair either way, just hard to find the parts most of the time...

Hope this helps

Interesting video. I ended up watching all 20 mins of it just to see what happens. Removing everything so I don't have blinkers anymore would be a fun option. :-)r Just kidding. I think the part is called a multifunction switch. $53 on RockAuto.

I bet that even though it is just a weak $0.02 spring, I would need to replace the whole assembly. It's not quite that annoying yet where I am willing to spend $53 on it, but it is nice to know there is the option.

The 3 blink feature is called a "bump" turn signal.
Makes it easy to change lanes without forgetting to turn your signal back off.
But, it is not supposed to bump signal when the cancel cam turns off the other signal.
It is possible the switch is just loose, causing this to happen.

It is called a multifunction switch. There are 5 different part # depending on the options you have in your ride.

The left switch is called the "wiper switch" and the right is call a multifunction switch.

I think I have a spare in the garage but it doesn't have the fog light switch if you're interested.

Mine has done the exact same thing. Seems to happen more often if I snap the wheel back than manually turning off the signal

Interesting post, Lauren. I've heard of people having to replace the stalk, but can't say that I've heard of this specific problem until now.
Is everything else working correctly, fogs, high beams, and high beam flash?

It sounds like this problem isn't all that uncommon. To answer your question Gage, yes everything else on the stalk is working properly. So, until something else breaks, I'm not really that motivated to spend money to replace it. If someone has figured out a $0 fix for this issue, I am all ears!

There is a lot of cars on the road without blinkers... :ROTFL:
