Post subject:  HID Issues with KK?

Hi Folks,

I'm planning to do an HID install on the KK shortly... plan is to get some black renegade headlight housings and install a projector in them. I'll be rerouting the high beam Daytime Running Light power to the factory halogen fog lights, and will be using a bi-xenon projector for Hi/Lo HID as well. I'll probably route the fog light switch to a new set of fog light projectors mounted low on the bumper too.

When I did a similar install on my 2008 Patriot, I had no end of issues with making the HID kits talk with the truck... I almost fried my computer by not using a relay on the fog lights, and had to add resistors to keep the headlights from just turning off whenever they felt like it.

Before I invest all my time and money into this, could you guys tell me what issues I might encounter with the KK? I saw some people had a CEL code even when using a relay harness, but didn't see any solutions to it. Is this problem limited to the CRD's?

Are canbus adapters, resistors, or capacitors required?

Thanks!

PM LibertyRS. He was the first to install aftermarket projectors in his KK. Here's his thread:

This is the ONLY way you should do this. Do not cheap out.
