so had the 09 kk for two years now, approching 50k on the odo and last week i went out to start my jeep and the battery was dead, jumped it, and went to work, came home 3 hours later same issue, jumped it again and no issue since, never had any issue before last week. as far as i know the battery and everything else are the ones that came from factory. im guessing this because my tires are the ones from the factory... any idea why this would happen for no apparent reason and then disappear? no codes popped up or anything? i have my cb and fogs wired to the battery, but as far as i can tell there is no power drain on the battery from them or anything else?

***Update***

it did it again twenty minutes ago, came out from where i was eating and went to start up, nothing. not even a whine. just a click, or two clicks in a row. is this a starter issue maybe? or possibly due to cold weather? it is supposedly 49 degrees here tonight but i wasn't in the restaurant for more then 45 minutes...

I say get a new battery. I've replaced my 11's battery already and I was in the same boat with 50k miles. It started fine one day before work. I got out of work about 5 hours later and it was stone dead, nothing was on. I'd get lights and everything, but she wouldn't even attempt to start (no click or anything). Jumped it, drove for a bit got home and it was fine. Started right up a bit later when I had to go out again, then a few hours later I went to my girlfriend's house and it was stone dead just like after my shift.

Gotta remember, the battery you have now is 6 years old (assuming the previous owner didn't replace it). That's an extremely long life for most batteries.

^^^^ This.

I am on my third battery in my '08 (118,000 miles). When my battery died, I had much the same experience as you. Jumping it got me going in the morning, but it wouldn't hold a charge overnight. The colder weather is definitely a factor.
