Hello all!

New member here!

Anyways, my wife's 2009 Jeep Liberty has been having heating problems as of this past year with her heat being weak an or just luke warm.

Within the past twelves months, she took it into a Chrysler dealership, and that fixed absolutely nothing, her dad ended up taking it to some shop that specializes heating/ac problems in cars, and he actually did some positives to it but it still wasn't where it should be, but drastically better. I believe both the second place forced pressured water through the pipes/hoses to clear a blockage.

Now its horrible again, when she has it coming out from the dash, the middle and passenger vents blow out luke warm heat, and not that strong at full blast, while the driver side vent is pushing out cold air. When the heat is being directed to the feet, the heat gets better, but still no where were it should be. I remember getting in this car and sweating(she loves her heat).

What could the problem be? Where should I start first?

There are about a hundred threads here about this. Do a quick search for heater core. It will more than likely need to be replaced. Hope to replace mine when it gets warmer out.

Make sure coolant is in the radiator and overfill tank ontop of a heater core flush. Easy 1 hr job start to finish.

I didn't think about searching Heater Core, I did search Heat issues, but your suggestion sounds better.

Hmmm, I will check on that when I get home, thanks for the tip.

I had the same (or similar) problem with my 2010 Liberty. No heat on drivers side and little heat on the passenger side when I bought it last February.
Had the heater core flushed at the dealer, and it was much better. Noticed about a month ago, the drivers side would only get warm, plenty of heat on the passenger side.

Took it to a mechanic friend of mine, he flushed it again, now I have PLENTY of heat - have to actually turn it down after my Jeep warms up , never had to do that before.

So try a heater core flush before you replace the heater core, fairy cheap and easy to do.
