All the rest are OK. It's just the last 2 that are not showing.

Added mud flaps a few weeks back. They mainly were added for looks as there is not any half decent mounting spot for a cross brace for the flap to moint to so i just mounted it to the wheel well.

On a side note, I got a far better job that will pay the jeep bills and then some so just got to wait for those few paychecks and be smart about payments for the trailer. Cause its extremely expensive...

Anyways,

Sweet! I've been following this thread from the beginning. Not much to add to it myself, but I really enjoy the process/build you have been doing.
Half the fun is seeing the Pics as you go!

Thanks! I wish I had more time and money to complete the trailer with. The trailer is quite expensive and I have no intention on starting it untill I have most of the funding since most of the cost is to the frame and tent. The trailer is built heavy duty and I'd like to modify it to last just as long as schutt intended.

Next up, maybe an electric over hydrolic for the brakes!

X2! Couldn't agree more! Thanks for continuing to post pics of your progress, PA. Military trailers are cool. Jeep adventure trailers are cool. You hit the sweet spot by combining the two!

Been a while since the last progress on the trailer. I am in the process of ordering an argon cylinder and a tig welder. Still figureing out the type of aluminum square tubing I want but I could figure that out in a few more weeks time as when it gets closer to my home time from driving the truck. The welder comes in stock next week so im crossing my fingers I can have it by the time I get home. Its soo exciting to finally get this show on the road!!!

Not even 12 hours later, confirmed I was able to get the welder before March. Wallet seems lighter now.

Getting the metal ordered soon. Only thing at the moment I am dead set on with metal is the diamond plate for covering the tub. Going with 1/8". 3/16" is prefered but my pocket simply can not afford that. I will add more bracing since the square tube is cheeper to use then going thicker diamond plate. I am very "iffy" with the vertical square tube being that I only want 4 vertical supports and needs to support a maximum of 650 lbs.

Wish me luck!

Time to get this show (quite literally) on the road!!!

Check out that last item too! 4 of them to raise the tent more then 7' off the ground. Hope the tent ladder can extend that distance...

Finally fixed it...

I need to grab an argon tank asap. That's all I am currently waiting on.

Well I'll be home Monday and Tuesday for the trailer. Don't know how far I will get with the welds. Im confident in my welds but I still need to dial in the argon flow and cleaning percentage. Welding aluminum isn't so easy especially to a first time welder like myself.

I got the tent in this past Friday and will be getting the tent frame and actuator mounts mounted and welded up. Electrical was run but for some reason I can’t post that photo up... I still have a lot of work ahead of me but at least I can tell it’s an overland camper trailer after this weekend! Stay tuned y’all!!!

That’s awesome!! Will there be crossbars at the top of the corner posts to support the tent? Or will the tent go on the aluminum decking? Either way, super sweet build!
