Hey guys, new to the KK world as I have picked up a 2012 with a little over 40k miles on it.. sport edition base with the sun roof (which is sweet).

I want to install a lift but I do not have the budget for any full kits like OME from JBA.. if I do end up lifting, I'll be buying steel spacers and adding some shocks...

My question is.. I saw someone on the forum that fit 255/70/r16's on a stock suspension that only rubbed at full lockout a bit...

is that possible with my stock suspension? This way I could possibly save up some more for a real kit... I just hate the current look of my KK

Let me know what you guys have to say!

First measure from middle of the wheel to bottom of the flare and see how much sag you have, some do fit that size ( 255-70-16s ) BUT with VERY LITTLE room in the wheelwells, would not advice doing so, go to 245-70-16
As far as a lift , my suggestions have always been if you can't afford a full spring lit then wait and save up the dollars, you'll be much more happier in the long run

tommudd,

if I'm looking for a wider stance look, would the 245's give me that with some type of offset?

If wanting a wider stance you have a couple of things working against you
first the size of the wheel wells and second no lift
With a lift you can go with say 7 inch wide wheel and 4 inches of backspacing to achieve that look, unlifted you are pretty much stuck with stock wheels and 245-70-16s
