Hey guys, I'm new to lost jeeps, and need some advice hopefully. I have a 2011 liberty KK, and last week I had hooked it up to my boat for an eveing of fishing, and after all was said and done. I was left with a rubbing/squeak at a slow idle. Took it to a shop today, and they couldn't find anything. On my way home I put it in and out of tow/haul thinking maybe something was messed up with that. Still happening Thought maybe parking break, at 20mph I applied the ebrake and noise went away, but jeep never stopped. Does this mean it needs adjusted at the lever or at the wheels... I haven't looked at the pads themselves. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk |

There is no adjustment at the handle. It is supposed to be self adjusting to take up cable slack. But is does not work well if at all. My hand brake handle was replaced under the H28 recall and a few years later it would not hold again. The star wheel at the brake pad was adjusted out as far as it would go without rubbing constantly. That is when I did the rest tag bend Mod and added nut spacers to the RR cable. No problems since. Anyway, check the pads, adjust the star wheels best you can. If that does not do it, let us know and I will post Pics of the Mod I did. Also check your rear disk brake shims, the disk pad slides on, make sure they are there. You can also add just a little brake part grease to the groove they sit in, to stop them from squeaking. |

Theres plenty of things that could be wrong. E-brake being the largest player for sure. For piece of mind just make sure diff fluid is full and not bone dry... |
