Any way to fit the new jeep wrangler unlimited engine into the 2012 jeep liberty. Liberty has the Chrysler 3.7 V-6 and the wrangler has the Pentastar 3.6 Liter V-6. They seem to be about the same size and selling off the 3.7 should put you right under the price of a 3.6. So (theoretically) there shouldn't be too much problem in the swap. Anything that im missing? Will it fit with no problem or is there a major thing im missing? My reasoning behind this is that I think that the high 200's hp range of the 3.6 is better for the liberty than the 210 hp it has with the 3.7.

Even if you could fab up motor mounts and other mechanical stuff, the wiring and computer crap will be a big pain. Id go for a 4.7 V8 if youre going to the trouble of an engine swap for power. The later 4.7 had 300 hp I think. 3.7 is just a 4.7 with 2 less cylinders, but still need electrical and computer work. Most likely the mounts and accessory brackets ate the same, even the bell housing pattern is most likely the same.

All the electronics are gonna be a huge headache. As said if you're going that far you might as well just swap in a 4.7 v8 or even a LS small block.

How much $$$ are you willing to spend?

That is the real question because that swap(or any swap into a KJ/KK) is not easy or cheap. Can it be done? yep but like stated not cheap. You could buy a new JK for less then the swap will cost you(not a base model JK either but a fully loaded Rubicon unlimited).
