Hi all,

I'm a new 2012 liberty owner, my liberty came with 18" wheels and i wanted to put a bigger tires on my jeep. I see a lot of info on 16" wheels, but i haven't found too much info on 17 or 18. Has anybody lifted and put bigger tires on a liberty with 18" wheels?

For one not much available that will fit in the 18 inch size if you want something other than mall rated
Most go to 16s for better selection, better ride etc

I run 255-60-18 Grabber AT on my KJ. They improved road holding and stability when towing.

FYI, I saw a set of 16 inch wheels posted in the for sale section in the NJ/NY area. Don't know where your at, but if you pick up something like these you would have a lot more tire options available, and cheaper too.

I have factory 17" rims on my 09. Not a huge variety of tires to choose from but there is many types available. Have Firestone Destination mud tires in 245/70/17 on it now. There were a few different sizes to choose from but went with those since they are the biggest that would fit on a stock height KK with not much rubbing.

Lifting with 18" rims is just going to look silly.

Find a set of 16s or 15s online and your tire choices are almost endless.

I'd avoid 15" rims. They are way to close to the calipers.

Here are my 245/70R -17 on stock 17" rims.

There's a guy here with the same set up on 17" wheels and liking it. Best choice I believe is 16" wheels and focus on better tires so you'll have better grip and traction.

Lots of pics in the "what have you done to your kk today" thread on page 461 and 462. Stock except for the tires.

I know it's a few months old, but I'm lifted and I'm running my stock limited 18" rims with 265/65/18 duratracs and it looks pretty good and no rubbing :-)

About 3.5" of lift and so far so good. Haven't had them that long but I don't foresee any problems tho, they kinda remind me of bfg Ko's which were great when I use to run them. I was looking at the g2's also but it just wasn't the look I wanted, but I have heard good things about them too.
