2nd edit: I see you already posted about this and Tommudd already gave you some good answers. Look at his KJ's specs too, man... he's at 4.25" of lift and is running 32's. If you want a dramatic tire size difference you have to push that Jeep up.
Thanks for the info! I do not want "dramatic" size difference PER SAY, but I do want them to stick out slightly to give my kk a meaner look. 265/70/16 would be what I would want with a 2.5 inch lift... would that give me that look do you think? I mean that's a bigger step up from 225/75/16... and I realize that that's sort of a do or die question as I'll have to lift it to actually see the difference... I think I'll keep looking at the pics people posted here and on JeepForums to see what they've done... The only thing I'm a little shaky on is making sure that the wheels I get will match up with the tires, I heard that even though the sizes do match, some may not fit as they will stick out. Thanks for the website too!
Are you looking to sit flush with the flares or hangout a bit? When you start pushing tires out, you really need a lift with KKs unless you don't mind cutting.
I am definitely not looking to sit flush at 0. I think that looks a little weird on the KK especially given how tall it is from the rear tailgate to the roof. I want to hangout, but not on an extreme level, just enough to get that mean look, lol. My best discription would be how a lot of people do it with a JKU, although some go wayyyy extreme with it.
I wish there was a website that would show me how mine would look with the various offsets etc...
I'll try one more time here
2.5 inches is NOT enough for 265-70-16s , need a little more lift to run them right
Second those sticking out past the flares like some little Honda Japanese vehicle is not cool looking and brings added rubbing / meaning more lift etc
Then IF you ever go anywhere but over a curb you'll need to run more bumpstops to keep from tearing the flares off and also .....yes rubbing more
The " arc " that a wheel travels in when turning is what gets you on these KJs and KKs
If you don't beleive me, get a tire shop to mount up an say 8 inch wide wheel with 3.5 or 4 inches of backspacing and try turning, not only will you have to bend over the pinch weld but also be very creative in heating and bending the inner fenderwells
Sorry I just tell it like it is, no reason to beat around the bush. building a KJ or KK " right" takes planning etc to have one the preforms on road- off road and still looks good
Have a nice day
