If anyone has had their water pump replaced, could you let me know the mileage on your vehicle when it started leaking? I'm going to do my 64,000 mi. coolant change/thermostat replacement soon and was wondering if it was worth it to replace the water pump now (preventative maintenance), or if the water pump is likely to last until my 128,000 mi. coolant change.

Mine pooped out around 75k. I don't know if that is typical or not though.

My first water pump was still going strong when a rod bearing went at 86K. I have 50K on my second engine (new water pump at the time) and no issues so far.

If I remember it right, buddy's needed to replace on his at 70k.

It might not hurt to replace it while you are at there.

Around 75k. About 6 months before my powetrain warranty expired, so I was lucky enough to not pay a dime. My Crank sensor also went around 80k.

That has nothing to do with how long a water pump lasts.

Changing the coolant every two, three years max, will extend the water pumps life.Waiting 6+ years takes it's toll on the pump seals and gaskets.

My first one was done per dealer request under warranty at 75k, claiming there was a crack. And yes they tried to
charge me for it. 150k I did myself and after I pulled it off, it didn't look like I had to, but did anyways while I was flushing the system.

Bought our 2010 with about 40,000k on it, now at 190,000k and haven't changed it yet. Can't be sure if it was done before we got it though.

My 09 has a little over a 100,000 miles on it. Been having a small intermittant leak since around 90,000 miles. Just changed it yesterday, had to remove the pump with the fan and clutch though, nut would not budge. Ordered new fan blade and fan clutch to put on later.

Mine popped around 60k drive a 2012 KK. Right after I changed it I'm having heater issues half of the car heats but the driver side don't ... I'm thinking I got a clogged heater core got to do a flush now LOL
