My AC drain is clogged. Can't get anything to drip underneath and my driver's side floor board keeps getting soaked. From everything i have read and seen it appears it drains in the center on top of the Transmission. I don't actually see the drain and can't figure out how to reach it. My mechanic did locate a hole under neath the insulation but above the transmission. It doesn't appear to be the drain hole but when he put air up there water leaks above the transmission. He has put air up there 3 times and drained it but each time it is clogged by the next day. It is starting to get hot down here and i need AC. Anyone have this problem before who can offer me a tip or two? |

The AC works just fine. Blows very cold. The problem is when i have AC on the water just pours down from the center console onto the driver side floor board. There is no condensation leaking underneath the car which is why I am diagnosing it as a clogged drain. Problem is I can't find the stupid drain. I'm hoping there is a way to clear the blockage that doesn't involve dropping the transmission. |

There is no easy way to get to the drain. There is however an unconventional way to get to it. This involves drilling a hole in the front of the HVAC housing above the drain. Then you can run a line down it and possibly vacuum it out. Caution: DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK! Before doing any work on the KK, disconnect the Neg (-) battery cable and wait 10 minutes! This will allow time for the airbag capacitors to discharge. You don't want to have your airbags go off accidentally. You will need to remove the radio bezel and center console to get to it.(The main airbag controller is located under there also!) The location is in front of the shifter where the HVAC housing comes to the floor. There is a tab coming out from the housing with 3 ribs on it. Above that, is where a hole needs to be drilled. I have not done this, But another KA owner chopped up the whole side of his Housing to find the drain. You would need to make the hole a little higher then in the pic to prevent leaking at a later date. After it's cleared just plug the hole you drilled with an expansion plug. This is not my Pic. Thanks to dainwatts for the Pic. ![]() The post about it is here. http://www.nitroforumz.com/threads/a-c- ... pet.41454/ The KA and KK share the same HVAC housing. |

So we were able to blow some air in from underneath the vehicle and the ac is draining just fine now. However, it is still leaking in the cabin as well. The water is clean. Any ideas on what the problem is or how to stop the leak? I live in American Samoa, so there is no chance is froze and cracked. https://youtu.be/p3dcAp0GW4I |

My guess is the sealant that goes around the drain is gone. Either that or the drain got cracked/broken/pushed up at the bottom of the HVAC housing.. |

You might be able to roll the seal in better or something like that, but there is not much movement on the HVAC unit since it bolts to the dash. If all else fails, I've used silicone sealant in similar situations. Just apply it like you would caulk a tub. |
