Post subject:  Remote Oil Filter Location

Hello everyone. I have been enjoying this forum for awhile now and have learned a lot. I have read various comments and complaints about the oil filter location on our KKs, but I haven't found any posts from anyone about actually installing a remote filter. While I don't find it hard to change the filter now, once I install skid plates I'm sure it will be. I'd be interested to know if anyone has done a remote filter and where did you put it? Did you use one the universal kits or is there one made for this application? Any input is appreciated.

There was actually someone working on it. Ryan was his first same. Had a KK with solar panels. Anyway. Alot of issues that come up and its not exactly cheap or easy to do.

Hey Native I hated the KKs oil filter location at first; however, it is MUCH easier to get to it if you remove your plastic grill and drivers side headlight.

Its somewhat difficult to pull the plastic piece at first, there are only two plastic "rivets" towards the top and 3 hex screws on the headlight itself.

I've found if I let the oil start draining and then start this process it really doesn't waste much time and saves the headache of trying to arch my far arm up there.
With some practice I'm not so bad at spilling oil everywhere.

This works for me! Good luck!
