I'm looking for a set of tires for my liberty, I went to a local mavis im running 235/70/16 stock tires right now my stock upper control arm you can barely put one finger in between upper ball joint and the tire, tech said going another 10mm wide you may pop the tire , he suggest getting different offset rims or wheels spacers in order to clear that space, is that true or I should have no issues running 245/75/16 I have ome 3 inch lift with stock control arms ,also what tire would you recommend either all terrain or LT I heard cooper discoverer at3 has good review, I'm looking for more agressive stance, any information would help...

You can only fit that size with a lift, that is without hacking half the car away. Offset will probably make it rub more from what I've heard. I actually rub at full bump with my 235/70/16's on stock wheels, but I have some sag since I'm at around 80k.

With the OME lift at 3 inches you should be fine with 245-75-16s
If going with aftermarket wheels then 7 inches wide and 4 inches of backspacing works best , sits the tire/wheel out to the edge of the flare just where you want it
or use wheel spacers, not a big fan of them but many run them
You may have to pound over the pinch weld but thats easy enough to do
Cooper AT3s are a good over all tire
