I have a really intermittent starting problem.Has only happened twice in 3 weeks.I turn the key and nothing happens.I turn and hold it on several more times and it with finally turns over and starts. Battery has been checked and is less than 1 yr. old.Connections are good.I know the dealership/service people will say can't do anything unless they can duplicate it.For those of you old enough to remember it sort of acts like the old starter solenoids with the round contact, when they got a burnt spot on them you had to keep turning the key until the contacts hit a clean spot.Any ideas?

Wiggle the ground battery terminal around. Look at the starter for damage. If its intermitant it sounds like a connection that's loose. It also could be your key cylinder.

Check into it.
