hey I have an 08 KK and the " serv 4wd" light comes on all the time more accurately it stays on from when I start the engine. Also the light with the little car making skid marks comes on at random. What service am I supposed to do and how do I reset it afterwards? I checked the oil in the transfer case and the diffs all is ok. As soon as I stop in my driveway I crawl under the front and put my hand on the hubs they are warm but never hot . The front
axel housing however gets hot to were I can't hold my hand on it . Is this normal operating temperature?
What do you think?
thanks Gary

The SERV4WD light comes on when a problem has been detected with the 4WD system.
I'd start by having a look at the wire connector on the shift motor at the X-fer case.

You may want to check the tranny fluid level. Same thing happened to me and found tranny pan leaking. Fixed leak fixed serv 4wd light.

I changed the shift motor on the transfer case and that solved the problem.
When I removed the old one the transfer case was not turned completely into the neutral position. The neutral position is were the shift motor needs to be to change to a new one. That means the shift motor never quite shifted all the way into the gear it was supposed to be in.
