Post subject:  .DXF files?

Greetings :) I am the proud owner of a now damaged 2012 Liberty, I hit a deer on the way home from work one night. I was going to use this an an excuse to upgrade a few parts but I cant find a bumper I like, so I was just going to have work make me one.
Work is a custom steel fabrication shop, computer controlled flame and plasma cutting, 100 ton forming presses, powder coating, CNC machining, the whole 9 yards.
I'd be willing to pay for .DXF or .PDF of the bumper mounts and the front fascia of the Jeep mostly because it would save me at least 18 hours of computer programmers wages.

Do a google search on 3D scanning. There may be somewhat local companies who can save you a huge amount of time and money on this project.

There is a few free apps that supposedly can use a series of 50ish pictures to make a model, you only need to scale it. Failing that, you can probably crowdsource a 3d scan. I know I'd be interested.

So I work for an engineering company, and we have the same stuff on the shop, plus I have a 3d Scanner, and I have created a 3D point cloud of the front of the jeep (.stl) and used that to create surfaces that match the bumper behind the facia, (.sdwprt) all in solidworks, I also created a bumper all made of 2D laser cut 0.125 and 0.250 steel parts. Is that what you are looking for?

Henrique,

I would be very interested in those Solidworks files. I work for a fabrication company in Massachusetts and would be able to fabricate a bumper or whatever else.

Was the scan done on a KK? What would you want for the files?

Has anyone ever scanned a KJ? I'd love to find a CAD file of the roof so I can do up my own roof rack.
